TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2014-138, transfer of appropriation in the Deschutes
County Public Health Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2014-138. The Public Health Department will remove a Public Health
Nurse II position (1.00 FTE) and a WIC Certifier position (.50 FTE) from the FY 2015 budget. These
positions were added in FY 2014 through the Paci fic Source grant, however resources for FY 2015 are
not available to fund these positions.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from the Personnel category to Contingency for $66,404 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2014-138.

WHEREAS, attached is a request from the Public Health Department requesting a transfer of
appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:

Subject: Appropriation transfer request -remove fte due to grant reorganization

This appropriation transfer requests the removal of a 1.0 Public Health Nurse II and a .50 WIC Certifier in Fund 259.
These positions were added in FY 14 through a PacificSource grant for an MCH initiative. The service model related to
this grant has recently been revised and these two positions are no longer included in the service delivery model.
The PHN II is authorization #2 and the WIC Certifier is authorization #8.
Jane Smilie has received permission to process transactions of this type without needing specific permission from Tom
Anderon or Erik Kropp.
