PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Consideration of Resolution #2014-139. The Early Learning Hub Fund was awarded additional grant funding in the amount of $74,828. The Office of Violence Against Women grant award was higher than anticipated at the time of the FY 2015 budget adoption. Resources from this award will be used to award sub-grants to local service providers. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The County will receive an additional $74,828 from the Federal Department of Justice. This funding will provide additional resources not included in the FY 2015 Adopted Budget. RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: Approval and signature of Resolution #2014-139. That the following grants be budgeted: Revenue 370-0000-331.01-00 Federal Grant $ 74,828 TOTAL REVENUE: $ 74,828 Section 2. The Federal Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforcement of Protection Orders Program (ARREST) award was higher than anticipated at the time the FY 2015 budget was adopted. This grant is received by the Early Learning Hub, and passes through to local service providers. These funds are used to encourage jurisdictions to implement pro-arrest policies as an effective intervention that is part of a coordinated community response.
