TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2012-003, transfer of appropriation in the Behavioral
Health Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2012-003. The Behavioral Health Department will increase the Personnel
Category by $187,208. In FY 2012, three Mental Health Specialist I positions (3.00 FTE) will be hired
to provide services to Oregon Health Plan (OHP) clients in residential and short term care programs.
This change was not anticipated at the time of the FY 2012 budget.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Contingency to Personnel for $187,208 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2012-003.

WHEREAS, attached is a request from the Behavioral Health Department requesting a transfer
of appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following transfers of appropriations be made:

Attached please find an appropriation transfer request to add three Mental Health Specialist I's to our adult program.
These staff will provide services to OHP clients in our residential and short term care programs. Erik Kropp and the BOC
approved this request on 1/30/12. We expect to hire these positions in March 2012.
