TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2012-050, transfer of appropriation in the Victims'
Assistance Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2012-050. Following a statewide survery, Personnel determined that a
reclassification of employess in the Victim's Advocate positions was necessary. This reclassification
resulted in higher than anticipated personnel expenditures.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Contingency to Personnel for $25,000 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2012-050.

A Resolution Transferring Appropriations *
Within the Various Funds of the 2011-2012 * RESOLUTION NO. 2012-050
Deschutes County Budget and Directing Entries *
WHEREAS, attached is a request from the District Attorney's Office requesting a transfer of
appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following transfers of appropriations be made:
FROM: 212-1100-501.97-01 Deschutes County Victims' Assistance Program,
Contingency $ 25,000
TO: 212-1100-412.18-38 Deschutes County Victims' Assistance Program,
Victims' Advocate $ 18,000
TO: 212-1100-412.22-01 Deschutes County Victims' Assistance Program,
FICA/Medicare $ 2,000
TO: 212-1100-412.23-01 Deschutes County Victims' Assistance Program,
PERS -Employee/Employer $ 5,000
Section 2. That the Finance Director make the appropriate entries in the Deschutes County Budget
document to show the above appropriations.

Please prepare a resolution for an appropriation transfer for the Victims' Assistance Program budget. This transfer is
needed due to a reclassification of some positions by Personnel, resulting in not enough budget authority in the

A transfer of appropriation is required for the following reason and will be used for the following purpose:
After conducting a statewide survey, Personnel determined that there should be a reclassification of some employees.
This resulted in personnel expenditures in excess of the original budget personnel appropriation.
