Amendment to Collective Bargaining Agreement Between
Deschutes County Sheriff and Deschutes County Sheriff
Employees Association
Upon agreement of the Association and the County, the job classification of Corrections
Technician is added to the Collective Bargaining Agreement signed February 2, 2010. In
adding the Corrections Technician classification the County and Association followed the
procedures in Article 2, sections C and D as stated below.
The County and Association agree that the job classification of Corrections Technician is
added to Article 2, Recognition, sections Band C as being included in the bargaining
unit. Exhibit 1 adds Corrections Technician to the list of job classifications included in
the bargaining unit. The Corrections Technician job classification will therefore have the
same rights under the Collective Bargaining Agreement as the job classifications listed in
Article 2, section B.
The Association has reviewed the wage scale, Exhibit 2, dated July 1, 2012 for the job
classification of Corrections Technician and does not request to reopen the contract under
Article 2 Recognition, Section D 1, which allows for negotiation of the wage scale for a
new job classification. After review, the Association accepts the wage scale proposed for
the new job classification provided in Exhibit 2.
