PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Mr. and Mrs. Bortner own real property commonly known as 3197 and 3251 SW 45 th Street, Redmond. They are vacant lots, each about one-half acre, in a residential subdivision. Mr. and Mrs. Bortner wish to make a gift of this real property to Deschutes County. According to 2011 assessment records, each lot has a real market value of $47,870. Staffhas confirmed that there are no liens on the property and that taxes are current. The only encumbrances are easements for water and utilities. At a work session, the Board of County Commissioners discussed this offer and agreed that they would accept the real property and hold it for future sale. ORS 93.808 requires political subdivisions to accept conveyances prior to recording the document in deed records.
