TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2012-124, appropriating a new grant in the Public Health
Fund.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2012-124. The Public Health Department was awarded additional grant
funding for $10,000, which will be used for the Adolescent Health Services program. As part of this
funding, a Health Educator II position (.80 FTE) will be increased to .90 FTE, effective October 1,
2012.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The County will receive an additional $10,000 from the National Association of County and City
Health Officials (NACCHO). This funding will provide additional resources not included in the FY
2013 Adopted Budget and will be appropriated for Personnel, and Materials & Service.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2012-124.

WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grants be budgeted:

Attached please find a budget resolution for Public Health. The National Association of County and City Health Officials
(NACCHO) has awarded Deschutes County Health Services a grant to provide assessment services under a
program known as Adolescent Health Services. This grant will be used to increase personnel and materials and services.
Erik Kropp approved the fte increase on September 10, 2012 for Rebeckah Berry.
