TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2012-135, transfer of appropriations in the Solid Waste
Capital Project Fund.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2012-135. Additional appropriation in the Materials & Services category
is required due to unanticipated expenditures on the Solid Waste road improvement project. Also, as the
rock removal project was budgeted as Capital Outlay but some related expenditures are properly
classified as Materials & Services, additional appropriation in the Materials & Services category is
required.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Contingency to Materials & Service for $30,000 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2012-135.

WHEREAS, attached is an e-mail from the Solid Waste Department requesting a transfer of
appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the fol1owing transfers of appropriations be made:
FROM: 613-6200-501.97-01 Deschutes County Solid Waste Capital Project Fund,
Contingency $ 30,000
TO: 613-6200-432.33-55 Deschutes County Solid Waste Capital Project Fund,
Engineering $ 30,000
Section 2. That the Finance Director make the appropriate entries in the Deschutes County
Budget document to show the above appropriations.

A transfer of appropriation is required for the following reason and will be used for the following purpose:
Some expenditures on for the rock removal project budgeted as capital outlay but have been properly classified as
M&S; Additional engineering on the SW Road Improvements were also necessary. Additional M&S appropriation is required.
