DATE: February 7, 2011 FROM: Marty Wynne Finance (541) 388-6559 TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM: Consideration and signature of Resolution #2011-011, appropriating a new grant in the Deschutes County Behavioral Health Fund. PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Consideration of Resolution #2011-011. The Behavioral Health Department was awarded additional funding in the amount of $86,161 to be used for start-up activities or furnishings and home renovations at the facility leased by Telecare, which is part of the Departments Residential Treatment Services. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The County will receive an additional $86,161 from the Oregon Department of Human Services as part of an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement. This funding will provide additional resources not included in the FY 2011 Adopted Budget. RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: Approval and signature of Resolution #2011-011. That the following grants be budgeted: Revenue 275-0000-334.12-00 State Grant $ 86,161 TOTAL REVENUE: $ 86,161 Section 2. Our Department of Human Services amendment #127295-50 includes revenues for our residential treatment services contracted to Telecare. These funds are for start-up activities related to the development of our new residential treatment facility, Deschutes County Recovery Center. These funds may only be used for start-up activities related to development or preservation of housing for persons with serious mental illness who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization or homelessness. Start up funds are used for personnel expenditures prior to opening, furnishings and home renovations. Any furnishings or home renovations become part of the real property. This facility is leased to Telecare and these funds are passed through to them. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional documentation.
