PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Aramark Correctional Services is the current vendor of correctional food services at the Deschutes County Adult Jail. Aramark provides food services for the jail, the work center and juvenile detention. It also provides food for jail commissary services and snacks at the work center. The current contract with Aramark expires September 30, 2011. The Sheriffs Office is preparing an RFP (Request for Proposal) to solicit proposals from vendors who provide correctional food services. While the Sheriff's Office conducts the RFP process, Aramark is willing to enter into an Interim Agreement to continue their food services. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: On average, the Sheriffs Office pays Aramark $7,300/month. RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: Approve and sign Service Agreement 2011-565.
