Consideration and signature of Resolution #2011-142, transfer of appropriation in the Health Benefits
Trust Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2011-142. A Health Educator II is needed to spearhead the development
of the County's Wellness Program. In order to add .25 FTE to the Health Benefits Trust Fund,
appropriations in the Personnel category needs to be increased.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Materials & Services to Personnel for $21,156 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2011-142.

Within the Various Funds of the 2011-2012 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-142 *
Deschutes County Budget and Directing Entries *
WHEREAS, attached is a request from the Administrative Services Department requesting a
transfer of appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES

Use the figures in the highlighted column. The calculations are for 12 months even though the position will only be filled
for 8 months. New position are added to the budget with annual costs for comparability between budget years.

An appropriation transfer request will need to be completed and emailed to Marty Wynne and lacy Nichols. The
appropriation transfer request form is on the Finance intranet site.
Someone will need to calculate the wages and benefits associated with this increase to complete the form. let me know
if you need some help with this.

Tracy,
Finance will need to do an appropriation transfer. The money for the Wellness Coordinator is in "Materials & Services"
and needs to be transferred to "Personnel Services".
I have copied Teri Maerki to get the ball rolling, I'm not sure what the steps are to make this happen.

Hi,
I will need a new hire info sheet, I will help you with that. She will stay at 21A/step 2 and her anniversary date will
remain November 1st, she will advance to step 3 in November if she has a successful eva!.
I will need to have any interview/reference checking notes, but I'm assuming that there was not an interview, but what
about references?
I will need to know if she is going to elect the standard plan, since she is taking a 25% increase, she will now be 85% FTE.
