PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Consideration of Resolution #2010-123, appropriating a new grant for the Deschutes County Public Health Department. The Public Health Department will receive additional State funding of $18,000 in FY 2011. Resources from this award are designated to promote healthy communities by developing chronic disease self-management networks and systems. This additional grant funding will be used to increase a Health Educator II position from .60 FTE to .75 FTE effective October 1, 2010. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: This appropriation authorizes an additional $18,000 in grant resources to be expended in FY 2011. RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: Approval and signature of Resolution #2010-123.
