Consideration and signature of Resolution #2010-123, appropriating a new grant in the Deschutes
County Public Health Department.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2010-123, appropriating a new grant for the Deschutes County Public
Health Department. The Public Health Department will receive additional State funding of $18,000 in
FY 2011. Resources from this award are designated to promote healthy communities by developing
chronic disease self-management networks and systems. This additional grant funding will be used to
increase a Health Educator II position from .60 FTE to .75 FTE effective October 1, 2010.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
This appropriation authorizes an additional $18,000 in grant resources to be expended in FY 2011.

A Resolution Appropriating New Grant Funds
to the Deschutes County 2010-2011 Budget *

RESOLUTION NO. 2010-123
WHEREAS, Deschutes County Public Health Department will receive new State grant revenue
totaling $10,021; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grants be budgeted:

Marty,
FY11 Public Health State grant award, #132011, received an additional $18,000 in
revision #1 to promote healthy communities for development of chronic disease self-
management networks and systems. Additional revenue will fund a .15 FTE increase to
Brenda Johnson, effective October 1st, 2010.
