PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No. BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Commissioner Luke has requested Planning Staff process a road name application to name an emergency access road serving the Deschutes River Woods subdivision in honor of Frank Pennock, theleading proponent of the road.. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: If a sign is installed at the intersection of Cheyenne Road and what will become Frank Pennock Lane, there would be a cost associated with the sign installation. RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: Signature of Order No. 2010-063. REVIEWED LEGAL COUNSEL For Recording Stamp Only BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON An Order Assigning the Name of Frank Pennock Lane to an Unnamed Emergency Access Road. * * ORDER NO. 2010-063 WHEREAS, Deschutes County applied to assign the name of a road pursuant to Deschutes County Code, Title 16, Uniform House Numbering and Road Naming System, to assign the name of Frank Pennock Lane to an unnamed emergency access road, located in Township 18 South, Range 11 East, Section 36; W.M.; and WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Community Development Department reviewed the proposed name change and approved it pursuant to DCC Chapter 16.16; and WHEREAS, all public notices required to be given under DCC 16.16.030(B) regarding the proposed name change have been given; and WHEREAS, the appeal period for appealing the Community Development Department's approval expired; and WHEREAS, DCC 16.16.030(I) requires that road name changes be assigned by order of the Board of County Commissioners; now, therefore, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, ORDERS as follows: Section 1. That the name Frank Pennock Lane be assigned to the emergency access road, as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein. /// PAGE 1 OF 2- ORDER NO. 2010-063 Section 2.
