TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2010-139, transfer of appropriations in the Behavioral
Health Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2010-139. The Behavioral Health Department needs to increase personnel
by 1.00 FTE. A Mental Health Specialist I (1.00 FTE) will be hired to provide services to clients under
a new Adult Mental Health Initiative program that will focus on serving the needs of the highest level
of seriously mental ill adults. This position was not anticipated during the FY 2011 budget.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Contingency to Personnel in the amount of $62,578 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2010-139.

WHEREAS, attached is a request from the Behavioral Health Department requesting a transfer
of appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,

Attached please find an appropriation transfer for the addition of a Mental Health Specialist I. We are hiring a MHS I
(1.0 fte) to provide services to clients under a new Adult Mental Health Initiative program that will serve our highest
level of seriously mentally ill adults.
Scott and I met with Dave Kanner on July 14, 2010 to discuss this process and received verbal approval to add the fte.
