Consideration of Signature of Order No. 2009 -068, Changing the name of a portion of Tumalo Rixid to
Graystone Lane.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Tumalo Road and Deschutes Market Road are being realigned, and this portion of Tumalo Road will no
longer be a portion of Tumalo Road, and therefore requires a new name.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature.

An Order Changing the Name of a Portion of
Tumalo Road to Graystone Lane.

ORDER NO. 2009-068
WHEREAS, Deschutes County applied to change the name of a road pursuant to Deschutes
County's Code, Title 16, Uniform House Numbering and Road Naming System, to change the name of a
portion of Tumalo Road to Graystone Lane, located in Township 16 South, Range 12 East, Section :26;
W.M.; and
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Community Development Department reviewed the proposed
name change and approved it pursuant to DCC Chapter 16.16; and
WHEREAS, all public notices required to be given under DCC 16.16.030(B) regarding the
proposed name change have been given; and
WHEREAS, the appeal period for appealing the Community Development Department's approval
expired; and
WHEREAS, DCC 16.16.030(I) requires that road name changes be assigned by order of the Board
of County Commissioners; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGO
ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That this portion of Tumalo Road be changed to Graystone Lane, as set forth in
Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That the Community Development Department take such further steps as
are required to ensure that the road is so identified for all purposes.

NOTICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION
The Deschutes County Planning Director will make an Administrative Decision on the proposed
land use action described below. All interested persons should contact the Planning Division
for more information and to request copies of the Findings and Decision.
ANY INTERESTED PERSON MAY SUBMIT WRITTEN COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED
LAND USE ACTION. ALL WRITTEN TESTIMONY MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE
DESCHUTES COUNTY PLANNING DIVISION NO LATER THAN October 5, 2009.
Any person submitting written comments may appeal the Findings and Decision in accordance
with the Deschutes County Land Use Procedures Ordinance. However, failure to raise an issue
in written comments, or to specify the criteria to which written comments are directed, will
preclude appeal on that issue or criteria.
