Consideration of Board Signature of Resolution #2009 -130, Declaring Certain Deschutes County
Personal Property Surplus and Authorizing Donation of said Property.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
This Resolution is to declare certain Deschutes County Personal Property as listed on the Asset
Donation Form (two vehicles) as surplus for donation to the Deschutes Basin Land Trust, a qualified
non - profit (Section 501 (c)(3). Per County Code, the decision for this donation is based on the publi
benefit to the County by assisting the work of the Deschutes Basin Land Trust. The donating
Departments are Adult Corrections and Community Development.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
Donation of vehicles will result in revenue loss from anticipated future auction sales and capital asset
reduction of two vehicles. Adult Corrections was the orginal owner of the Jeep Cherokee and has a
current valle of $1,200 and Community Development was the orginal owner of the Ford Ranger with a
current value of $2,000.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Recommend signature of Resolution # 2009 -130 by Chair of County Commissioners declaring certi in
real property surplus and authorizing the Road Department to dispose of such property by donation to
the Deschutes Basin Land Trust in care of Mr. Brad Chalfant.

WHEREAS, certain personal property described in Deschutes County Asset Donation Form, attacked
hereto by this reference incorporated herein, is no longer needed for public use by the County; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to dispose of this surplus personal property; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to dispose of such property by donation; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, HEREBY
ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. The Deschutes County Road Department Director, or his designee, is herby authorized and
directed to dispose of the personal property described in the Asset Donation Form to this order by donation to
the Deschutes Land Trust, in care of Mr. Brad Chalfant.
Section 2. The Chair is authorized on behalf of the County to execute any and all documents neces 3ary
to complete the transfer of any personal property authorized to be donated in accordance with this resolution.
