TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration of Board signature of Resolution Number 2008-027 donating a Dell Optiplex 170L
computer to the School Based Health Center at the Bend -La Pine School District.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The Health Department will be opening a new School Based Health Center in Bend on Bend -La Pine
School District property.
School Based Health Center operations require Health Department staff to have electronic access to
Health Department client records and to various State databases, such as the ALERT immunization
tracking system.
County Information Technology staff are unable to provide support at non -County locations.
Therefore, an order to allow Deschutes County Health Department to operate a School Based Health
Center, the Bend -La Pine School District has agreed to provide both Information Technology support
and connectivity at no cost to Deschutes County.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution 2008-027 declaring a computer (serial # BY3TS71) surplus
property of Deschutes County and to transfer the equipment to the Bend -La Pine School District.

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution Declaring Certain Equipment
Surplus and Directing Disposition.

* RESOLUTION NO. 2008-027
WHEREAS, certain equipment described as a Dell Optiplex 170L computer system, serial
number BY3TS71, owned by Deschutes County, is no longer needed by Deschutes County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it to be in the public interest to transfer
the equipment herein described to the Bend La Pine School District, to be used at the Bend School
Based Health Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the equipment described as a Dell Optiplex 170L computer system, serial
number BY3TS71, is hereby declared to be surplus property of Deschutes County.
Section 2. That the equipment declared surplus herein be transferred to the Bend La Pine
School District.
