DATE: March 20, 2008 FROM: George Kolb, County Engineer Road Department 322-7113 TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of signature of Resolution No. 2008 - 034 initiating proceedings for the Beaver Special Road District LID PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO. BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: The members of the Beaver Special Road District approached the Road Department about the possibility of using the LID process to finance the improvements to pave Foster Road which is a gravel road located within the boundaries of the Special Road District. The Road Department discussed the possibility of using the LID process with County Legal Counsel and they felt that it was a viable option for the Road District and could be used even though the Board had issued a moratorium on LID's. The difference with this LID is that the Road District will continue to maintain Foster Road after it is paved and they will be responsible for all costs associated with the LID in that there wil not be a "not to exceed" cost associated with this project. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: Properties within the Beaver Special Road District LID will be assessed for 100% of the costs associated with the LID (includes administration, design, construction, and financing costs). RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: The Road Department recommends signature of Resolution No. 2008 - 034 ATTENDANCE: George Kolb, County Engineer DISTRIBUTION OF DOCUMENTS: Copy to Wanda (ext. 7103) at the Road Department.
