Consideration of signature of Order 2008-027 Approving and Confirming the Sale of Certain Real
Property Acquired by Deschutes County.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
On February 13, 2008 the board signed Order 2008-010, ordering the sale of certain county property
acquired through tax foreclosure proceedings and by other means. On March 20, 2008 the Deschutes
County Sheriff held the public auction as ordered. This Order will approve and confirm the high bids
received at that sale and authorize the Property and Facilities Director to prepare for board signature the
Bargain and Sale Deeds in accordance with the Sheriffs Return.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The gross proceeds of the auction were $399,400.00. The Sheriff received cash or cashier's checks
totalling $143,800.00. The total amount financed was $255,600.00.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff recommends approval and signature of Order 2008-027.

ORDER NO. 2008-027
WHEREAS, on February 13, 2008, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") signed Order 2008-
010, incorporated by reference herein, ordering the sale of certain County property acquired through lax
foreclosure proceedings and by other means; and
WHEREAS, on March 20, 2008, the Deschutes County Sheriff held the public auction as ordered; and
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Sheriff received bids equal to or in excess of the minimum bids set
forth in Order No. 2008-010, and the highest bid for each property being herein set forth in the Sheriffs Return,
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by this reference incorporated herein, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the bids set forth in Exhibit "A" are the highest and best bid received at s.ile,
and it is in the best interest of the County to accept said bids; now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, HEREBY
ORDERS as follows:
Section 1. That the bids set forth in Exhibit "A" are hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That the sale of property authorized by Order 2008-010 is hereby confirmed and closed.
Section 3. The County Property and Facilities Director shall prepare for Board signature the Bargain
and Sale Deeds in accordance with Exhibit "A".

SALE OF REAL PROPERTY
I hereby certify that on February 13, 2008, I received the attached Board of County
Commissioners Order No 2008-010 authorizing the sale of real property described in Exhibit A of said
Order.
I further hereby certify the Notice of Sale was delivered to the Bulletin, a newspaper of general
circulation in the county, for publication for four weeks, to wit: February 14, 2008; February 20, 2008;
February 27, 2008 and March 5, 2008. On February 13, 2008, the Bulletin notified me that publication
would not be available on February 14, 2008 and could be moved to February 15, 2008. On February 15,
2008, the Notice of Sale was not published in the Bulletin due to an error in publishing by the Bulletin.
The new four-week publication dates were set as: February 20, 2008; February 27, 2008, March 5, 2008
and March 12, 2008.
I further hereby certify that on March 18, 2008, the affidavit of publication was recorded with the
Deschutes County Clerk's Office.
I further hereby certify on March 20, 2008, the sale was held in the Barnes Hearing Room, 1300
NW Wall Street, Street, Bend, Oregon. Amount of bids for all parcels sold, being the best and highest
bids totaled $399,400.00 (Three Hundred Ninety -Nine Thousand Four Hundred and 00/100 Dollars), total
amount of funds received by cash or cashier's check $143,800.00 (One Hundred Forty -Three Thousand
Eight Hundred and 00/100 Dollars), total amount financed $255,600.00 (Two Hundred Fifty -Five
Thousand Six Hundred and 00/100 Dollars). See attached list for bid amount and name of purchaser for
each parcel.
I hereby make this return to the Board of County Commissioners.
