TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration of Board Appointment for one new member to the Deschutes County Bicycle and
Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The purpose of this agenda item is to request that the Board of County Commissioners (Board) appoint
Kevin Tanski to fill one position of the Deschutes County Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
(BPAC). The BPAC is seeking to replace one of the recent reappointments from this past June. Elaine
Knobbs was reappointed by the Board, but has been, and will be unable to attend any meetings due to
personal issues. The BPAC contacted prior applicants and selected Kevin Tanski at their last meeting
to recommend to the Board for appointment to fill the remainder of Ms. Knobbs's term. Prior to
moving to Central Oregon, Mr. Tanski served as Executive Director of the Palmer Land Trust bas: d in
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Prior to that position, he was the Parks Coordinator for the Teller C• )unty
government, serving in that capacity for ten years.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff recommends that the Board appoint Kevin Tanski as a member of the Deschutes County Bicycle
and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, through June 30, 2011.
