The organization was created approximately 20 years ago to inspire and enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This event is our way of celebrating those who "believe" in the Boys & Girls cubs of Redmond/Terrebonne and helped us "achieve"our goal of opening our doors on October 6th. his event will be held at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds -South Sister Building from 12:OOpm- :00pm, with guest speaker Roz Eaton- mother of world class athlete and Olympic Gold Medalist, hton Eaton and the Ohana dancers. While this event is an appreciation, there will be an option for ur guest to donate to the Club: helping us support and provide programming to over 500 members, ges 5-18. GCRT's programming focuses on three main areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship cademic Success: • Power Hour -Homework help and tutoring program • Project Learn- BGCRT works directly with schools, educators, and parents to help youth succeed Health Lifestyles: • SMART Moves (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) - Helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco, and other drug uses as well as premature sexual activity. • Triple Play- Improves the overall health of Club Members by increasing daily physical activity, teaching good nutrition and fitness habits and encouraging them to develop healthy relationships. Good Character & Citizenship: • Keystone/Torch Club- Club Members work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation. This donation will help BGCRT provide lunch items (main entree and sides) for our 200 guest.
