professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in
all vocations and help build good will.
Project Name: Bend Performing Arts Center (BendPAC) Systems Capacity Expansion
Project Description: This grant will be used in support of the annual Great Rotary Duck
Race. The funds will purchase six 32 square feet of non -illuminated, temporary sign
permits at $226.86 each and one special event permit for $174. Money raised through the
event is provided to local charities.
Project Period: September 11, 2011
Amount of Request: $1,535.16 (Total projected expenses = $1,535.16)

1. Rotary's stated purpose of the organization is to bring together business
and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical
standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
2. The proposed activity is the Great Rotary Duck Race that raises money for
local charities.
3. The event is set for 09/11/2011. Temporary signs will be posted from
07/17/2011 thru 09/17/2011.
4. The event will raise money for local charities and also provide customers to
businesses around Drake Park, the location for the event. Also, local food
vendors will be on-site.
5. Merchants of Bend will benefit from the Duck Race as well as the local
charities selected by each of the 4 Bend Rotary Clubs. Two charities selected
thus far are Boys and Girls Club of Bend and Deschutes Children Foundation.
6. The funds will be used in the following way:
