We provide shelter and medical care for stray and unwanted animals in our area. Our staff includes a Shelter Manager and an active Board of Directors. The shelter secures funding through Donations„ Fundraising, and other income sources. 2. The proposed project for which we are seeking funding will complete the installation and provide materials for a fully operational medical X-ray facility at the shelter. A donated X-ray machine is presently at the shelter but requires electrical hookup, protective aprons, film and processing supplies to become operational. The funding requested will be used to purchase these items and provide a new diagnostic service to the shelter. 3. The timeline for completion of the project, commencing at the time of full funding, will be approximately 2-3 months, 4. The addition of an X-ray facility at the shelter will allow us to better serve the community by providing much needed low cost veterinary care for their animals. The use of X-ray equipment is a vital part of many animal care diagnoses and will allow us to provide a more complete service to the community. 5. The communities which will benefit from this new veterinary diagnostic service include animal owners who cannot afford healthcare for their pets via normal channels. In addition, our ability to care for the health issues of strays and unwanted animals will also improve. 6. The funding will be used as follows: a. Electrical connection of the X-ray machine b. Protective clothing c. Film and processing materials d. Calibration and tuning $1,800.00 $ 200.00 $ 250.00 $ 450.00 Total $2,700.00 In addition to seeking County funding, we are soliciting contributions from our membership. Continuing support for this project will be realized through fees charged for X-ray imaging services. A copy of the Humane Society of Redmond's non-profit status is on file at the County offices.
