Survey locations have been randomly selected across the entire country and one of these locations falls on property owned by Deschutes County. The location is T19S, R15E, Section 35, SW1/4: Tax Lot Number 1915000001600 in Deschutes County. We are requesting your permission to go onto this property to collect the data. We appreciate the opportunity to conduct the rangeland inventory on your land. The NRCS recognizes the good conservation works achieved by private landowners across the country. This field study is an opportunity to document these efforts. The information gained will aid us in developing conservation programs that will benefit both you and the American taxpayers. This inventory will take no more than one day per location. The inventory staff of 2-3 private contractors will be collecting soil and vegetation data. Nothing will be damaged and in no way will these activities disturb your operation. We will leave things as we found them. No markers or flagging will be left behind. Landowner names are not entered into the database. To grant or deny permission, please complete the attached form or the Right -of -Entry document we spoke about on the telephone today. If you would like to be contacted a day or two before data collection, please indicate that on the permission form. Please email the form to me at mary.beth.smith@or.usda.gov. The information gathered in this inventory on your land is combined with information that is collected across the nation. Individual information is not released. Please inform us on the attached form of any locked gates or additional permissions that may be needec to travel to the site to complete the Range Survey work there. Will any of the area be closed for hunting season? If we do not hear from you by June 10, 2010, we may contact you by telephone. Please call me at 541-565-3551, ext 108, if you have any questions.
