1. Describe the applicant organization, including its purpose, leadership structure, and activities.
The Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB is a private not-for-profit 501 c (6) dedicated to economic well
being of our business members, Redmond and the Central Oregon community.
2. Describe the proposed project or activity.
The matching grant money will be used to create and implement a Redmond Retail Development Project, a
strategic online multi -media platform, showcasing the recent revitalization that has taken place in
downtown Redmond and the surrounding areas. The project will highlight the current retail climate, profile
existing business owners/mangers, as well as, serve as a clearing house for new business resources. In
essence a one-stop informational portal for small businesses and entrepreneurs to direct them to resources
that will assist them in business planning and access to capital.
Potential retailers will be able to access the proposed platform via the web, free of charge. It will be easily
found on any major search engine, as a result of extensive search engine optimization (SEO) and through

key links on community partner websites such as: REDI, EDCO, City of Redmond and the Redmond
Chamber of Commerce & CVB.
3. Provide a timeline for completing the proposed project or activity.
The project has been slated to commence beginning August 30, 2010 and it is our goal to have this project
completed and live by September 30, 2010.
4. Explain how the proposed project or activity will impact the community's economic health.
The goal is to attract new businesses and retailers to the Redmond area, in an effort to diversify and
ensure the community's economic vitality. The face of Redmond has drastically changed for the better in
the past few years and now warrants a strong marketing effort to sustain and build on the positive
momentum that has been generated.
5. Identify the specific communities or groups that will benefit.
There is currently no Redmond organization or City entity that has the resources to actively recruit potential
retailers to Redmond By working to fill our store fronts, and increase the number of retail choices
available to local buyers, Redmond will become a stop -gap for consumers. Redmond's economic vitality is
directly related to its ability to capitalize on keeping residents and/or visitors dollars local.
We have shared this project concept with a number of local agencies and they have all expressed support of
this project, as well as, interest in being a strategic partner in its distribution, including the following:
Redmond Economic Development Incorporated, Redmond Development Commission, City of Redmond's
Community Development Dep. and the Redmond Merchant Committee.
6. Itemize anticipated expenditures*. Describe how grant funds will be used and include the
source and amounts of matching funds or in-kind contributions, if any. If the grant will
support an ongoing activity, explain how it will be funded in the future.
The grant funds will be used to create the initial profiles, video testimonials & photography essays needed
to properly showcase Redmond's business climate.
