STRATEGIC PLAN DRAFT REVIEW:
Shannon gave a brief overview of today’s meeting and spoke about the development of the
strategic plan and planning process. The strategic plan includes five goals with intended
results/outcomes, strategies and indicators identified for each goal. Key actions have been
identified and prioritized for each year of the plan. Shannon briefly spoke about the year 1
action plan found in Appendix A of the PowerPoint handout.
The strategic plan will be implemented by using the DCHS Integrated Management System.
All DCHS programs have developed operational plans, which contain many of the key actions
that are essential in achieving department goals. Operational plans will be used and reviewed
regularly at the program and department level and the strategic plan will be reviewed and
updated annually. All plans are designed to align with each other and ensure our work is tied
to community needs in order to attain the highest standards of public welfare.
