He then asked everyone to introduce themselves and state what Board/Committee they serve on, if applicable. Katie Pineda handed out a survey asking those in attendance if they would provide feedback on the new and upcoming front office reconfiguration. Muriel DeLavergne-Brown announced that she presently serves on the State Public Health Advisory Board representing Central Oregon and spoke briefly about modernization and how it should be integrated into the Strategic Plan. STRATEGIC PLAN DRAFT REVIEW: Shannon gave a brief overview of today’s meeting and spoke about the development of the strategic plan and planning process. The strategic plan includes five goals with intended results/outcomes, strategies and indicators identified for each goal. Key actions have been identified and prioritized for each year of the plan. Shannon briefly spoke about the year 1 action plan found in Appendix A of the PowerPoint handout. The strategic plan will be implemented by using the DCHS Integrated Management System. All DCHS programs have developed operational plans, which contain many of the key actions that are essential in achieving department goals. Operational plans will be used and reviewed regularly at the program and department level and the strategic plan will be reviewed and updated annually. All plans are designed to align with each other and ensure our work is tied to community needs in order to attain the highest standards of public welfare. “To promote and protect the health and safety of our community.” Updated 6/28/16 Shannon asked those in attendance to take 8 to 10 minutes to review the goals posted at each station, then come together to provide feedback for management review. She announced that a manager who has gone through the process will be on hand at each station to answer questions during the exercise.
