The purpose of this document is to outline topics of discussion and actions by the Committee. Members Present: Cheryl Howard, Greg Sveland, Bill Braly, Mary Barron, Rick Root, Wendy Holzman, Scott Ferguson, Christopher Cassard, Agency: Matt Martin, Deschutes County; David Amiton, ODOT; Dan Serpico, ODOT; Theresa Conly, ODOT; Chad Carpenter, La Pine Park and Rec Guests: David Thompson, Bradford Tower, Greg Smith Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. Introductions Approval of Prior Minutes May 4, 2017, meeting minutes were unanimously approved as amended. ODOT Paving project on US 20 from Powell Butte Hwy. to Horse Ridge . Dan Serpico, ODOT Dan provided an overview of the project. The segment is approximately 2 miles in length and begins east of Dodds Road. The project will include shoulder and centerline rumble stripes with gaps for bicycles and near residences. Construction is planned for paving season next year. Discussion followed. BPAC Business BPAC Positions  Cheryl provided an overview of member departures, vacancies, and recruitment process. Departing members will be recognized at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on June 21st. Prospective candidates Bradford Tower, Chad Carpenter, David Thompson, and Greg Smith provided comments. Ballots were complete by the committee members present. Big Chainrings Two nominations were received for City of Redmond Public Works (agency) and Matt Cromwell (individual). Cheryl provided an overview of the two nominations. Ballots were completed by the committee members present. 2 Committee Updates:  COACT: Bill Braly provided an overview of the meeting last month that focused on the transportation funding bill going before the Oregon legislature.  Three Sisters Scenic Bikeway Committee: The Bite of Tumalo was approved as bike friendly business and will be included on Visit Bend materials and other public information resources.  Bend MPO TAC: June meeting was canceled. Messaging: Safe Sidewalk and Big Chainring Award Winners Updates South County: Cycle Oregon is coming through La Pine in September. Volunteers are needed. A general overview of the event was discussed. Deschutes County: HB 2027 is before committee today for a work session to discuss options including original proposal, amendment proposed by Bend Park and Recreation District, or no action. Sisters: Cycle Oregon route will be traveling through the community. Redmond: Streets Alive event planned to showcase a demonstration bike boulevard using Bend Open Streets as a model; Improvements to Centennial Park are being discussed including a bike aid station. ODOT: David provided updates on the Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP), the ODOT Active Transportation Needs Inventory, and the construction schedule for the Cascade Lakes Highway undercrossing at Rimrock Trailhead. Open Floor Steve Jorgensen with the Bend Park and Recreation District will be leaving the district June 2nd. BPAC annual presentation to the Board of County Commissioners is at 10:00am on June 21st.
