Media present was Richard Coe 1. CALL TO ORDER & INTRODUCTIONS: Chair Judge Ashby called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm. 2. APPROVAL OF PSCC MEETING MINUTES: Action: Motion made by Donna Mills to approve the June 7, 2022 meeting minutes. Motion was supported by Nick Lelack. Motion Carried. Minutes of LPSCC Meeting Tuesday, August 2, 2022 Page 1 of 3 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None presented. 4. ADULT TREATMENT COURT TRANSITION: Angie Curtis reported the Adult Treatment Court is no longer accepting any new clients into the program due to challenges in recruiting a coordinator and the transition for a treatment provider. Judge Ashby spoke on the benefits of the program and the hope for assistance for members of the community that suffer from addiction. S. ADULT TREATMENT COURT SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT: Trevor Stephens provided the report on the court grant update and the transition process for the clients. Action: Motion made Melanie Kebler to support the submission of the adult treatment court semi-annual report. Motion supported by Devin Lewis. Motion Carried Melanie Kebler expressed a need to address the challenges of not being able to bill for case management. Angie Curtis noted the great struggle for recruitment. Ms. Kelbler would offer to draft a letter to stress the importance. Judge Ashby and Sheriff Nelson noted the letter should also point out difficulties finding resources. 6. JUSTICE REINVESTMENT SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT: Trevor Stephens provided the report on the Justice Reinvestment grant reporting. Program updates were presented by Deputy Sheriff Neil Marchington and Laura Franzen, Deputy District Attorney. Action: Donna Mills moved to approve the justice reinvestment semi-annual report. Motion was supported by Melanie Kebler. Motion Carried 7. JUSTICE REINVESTMENT SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT CHANGES: Trevor Stephens provided the report. Action: Melanie Kebler made motion to approve the justice reinvestment supplemental grant changes. Motion supported by Sheriff Nelson. Motion Carried SB 48 / PJO on PRETRIAL RELEASE: Judge Ashby presented an update on the on pretrial process. Deputy Marchingron provided preliminary release data. DUII/VETERANS COURT AND VETERANS INTERVENTION STRATEGIES: Judge Ashby provided history on the program and the development of the Veterans Intervention Strategies program at the District Attorney's Office. Judge Ashby would like to see this topic on the September agenda to present the values of the VIS program. 10. OHER BUSINESS: • Chief Devin Lewis inquired on the email warrant system update. Judge Ashby noted it is moving forward slowly.
