gency medical services(EMS)when they need them.We do this
through a contract with the City of BendBend.Fire and Rescue
Department. DCRFPD#2 owns all five fire stations serving the
City and Rural Fire District.These are leased to the City as part
of the fire and EMS service contract. The District works closely y
with the Fire Department to effect changes to increase service
quality.The District recently purchased computer software that,for .
the first time,allows Fire Department management to predict the
effects of changes in staffing,traffic patterns,land development •
and facilities on the quality of services.This will help to meet the ,
Districts goals of saving lives and property.
DCRFPD#2 is an active member of a strong collaborative of
federal,state and local agencies focused on the prevention of, ,
survival during,and recovery after wildfires.Wildfire/Forest Fire is J
the number one natural disaster in our area.Fortunately,it is one
disaster we can defend against before it occurs.The District pro-
vides ongoing education,training and grants to assist homeown-
ers prepare their homes;lands and livestock to survive wildfires.
